However, the difference was huge with Norton. If my connection was just a little slower, it would have been impossible to stream any movies or access interactive websites.

How To Disconnect And Remove A VPN On Windows 10
If you don’t want to use a VPN anymore, or if you just want to remove a server from the list, you can disconnect or altogether remove it. There is a VPN button for quick on and off located in the Windows 10 action center , but we’ll go through the entire process, which includes completely removing a VPN from your system.
Click Remove again to confirm.
That’s it! The VPN you configured should now be removed. You can always add a server again using the first set of instructions.
Note that even if you manually configure a VPN on Windows 10 you will still be able to use a separate client without issue. You can always remove the manual connection, but it’s not entirely necessary.

Unblocked: Netflix And Uktv
Norton Secure VPN could only unblock UKTV and Netflix, which is a little disappointing. The good part is that my connection was fast enough to stream shows on these platforms without lag or buffering. I tested Norton Secure VPN with Criminal Minds which is only available on Netflix US. However, my speeds experienced a significant decrease while I was connected to the VPN if I didnt have a fast connection in the first place, I would have experienced a lot of buffering.
Even though Netflix has strong geo-restrictions, Norton Secure VPN managed to get around them. I was impressed by this because this VPN is only intended to protect you from hackers and data leaks, not streaming content.
UKTV was very easy to unblock too. I connected to a UK server, and I had full, unlimited access to the platform. On top of that, the connection was great. I didnt experience slowdowns or changes in quality.

Customer Support Has Plusses And Minuses
The Support information for NortonLifeLock products can be a little hard to find. Not the Support area itself youll find a link to that at the top of most every page on their website. Then look for a Products & Services menu at the top of the page. Once you get there, youll see an FAQ section, additional resources, and a search box to track down the answer you need. Despite all the options here, I found it hard to find the specific information I wanted, so scrolled to the bottom of the window and selected Contact Support.
I used the 24 hour live chat system to get more information directly from the Customer Support team. The service here was really fast and the rep was helpful.
There is a large community area with discussion forums, ideas , and blogs. Navigating this area can be confusing, so youll want to scan down the right side of the window and look for relevant filters you can use to narrow your focus.
Hands On With Norton Secure VPN
I had no trouble setting up Norton Secure VPN on an Intel NUC Kit NUC8i7BEH desktop running the latest version of Windows 10. It took just a few minutes to install and was ready to work immediately.
Most VPN companies have opted to create an app that stands apart from the operating system, as any other app would. The Norton Secure VPN app, however, is anchored to the System Tray. That’s a little annoying for me, as someone who needs to fiddle with every possible setting, but most people will probably leave their VPN out of sight and out of mind.
The UI is a bit small and dated to my eyes, but its still functional. When you open the app it immediately connects to what it thinks is the best network. A large circle shows your current location on a map, flanked on either side by your true IP and your public IP address from the VPN. The map is just chrome, unfortunately. I prefer designs like TunnelBear VPN, which is friendly and bright.
Norton Secure VPN wants to keep your VPN protection activeso much so that I had trouble finding how to switch it off. It turns out you toggle the switch at the bottom of the screen, which I had mistaken for a connection setting. Nudging users towards better security is a good thing, but I don’t care for apps whose tools aren’t immediately understandable.

Hello Merlinscave. The built in VPN in the current N360 product cannot be set to automatically launch at system startup. The services that are needed for it to function WILL start with the system however, a manual click from My Norton in the product UI will lead you to the area to launch the VPN. My screenshot shows mine set for “manual” since I do not want the extra stress on the device this was taken from at startup. I can always enable it on the fly which will also require a restart for the service to run.
