How To Choose The Best Mobile VPN
Whether you’re using an iPhone or an Android device, your first step is the same: find a VPN you like that’s compatible with your device. Here’s how:
1. Browse CNET’s lists of the best VPNs for iPhone and best VPNs for Android. If your aim is just to browse on public Wi-Fi securely, look for a VPN service that has servers located in your current country. The general rule of thumb is the closer the hardware, the quicker the connection.
2. Avoid free VPNs. We love 30-day guarantees and 7-day trial periods , but completely free VPNs are rarely safe, and are often just a way for unseemly companies to get hold of your data.
If you’re looking to invest in a VPN for the long haul, you’re going to need more than 10 minutes of research time. But when you’re ready to take a deeper dive, CNET has reviews of many of the major players in the VPN space, and a guide for how to pick the right VPN for you.
What Is VPN On Iphone
As mentioned, a key reason for using VPN on iPhone is to bypass strict censoring of the internet. For instance, youll want to be prepared when youre traveling to China. China is notoriously known for its firewall, nicknamed The Great Firewall of China.
When traveling to China, youll find that you have no access to apps or websites that youre familiar with. You cant access Facebook, Gmail, YouTube, and other sites that are not inline with Chinas internet policy. We can assure you that getting blocked from using your regular apps makes having the latest iPhone seems pointless.
The global workplace has also taken a new direction in recent years. Some industries, especially companies dealing with non-tangible products, no longer prioritize working in an office. Its common for programmers, designers, and marketers to work in cafes and tap into public WiFi networks.
Its undeniable that working at your local cafe with high-speed connectivity is convenient. But connecting to a public WiFi also leaves you at risk to hackers and malicious cyber attacks. Having a VPN activated helps to secure the internet connection as you deal with sensitive information on your iPhone.
You can put an end to your fear of being spied on by installing a VPN on your iPhone. A VPN cloaks the IP address on your iPhone and allows you to surf the internet anonymously.

What About Free VPNs
Generally speaking, we advise anyone looking to use a VPN to make their connection secure to ensure theyre using a paid VPN, not a free option. While some VPNsmost notably TunnelBearhave a free tier, any VPN that promises full VPN capabilities without a payment plan backing it up is likely selling your data to recoup the costs. To some people, this might not matter, since some VPNs are just used to country-hop and nothing else. Others will want to consider the repercussions of their data being sold, especially if you forget to turn off the VPN to begin with.
Those are just three of the many VPN services that will work on your iPhone. All offer a credible level of service and good security. If you regularly use open Wi-Fi networks, using a VPN is not an option, it is a necessity. For less than a cup of coffee, you can provide robust security for your devices that keep you safe online. Why would you not?

A mobile VPN also protects your privacy from prying eyes like your ISP, Google, and other websites that track your browsing habits. With a mobile VPN in place, youre always in private browsing mode, so the only person or entity that knows where youve been on the internet is you.

An Iphone VPN Keeps Your Data Secure
Like we said, one of the biggest reasons you should consider using an iPhone VPN is to keep your data and identity secure online. It does this by encrypting your data, masking your iPhone’s IP address and re-routing your internet traffic through the VPN’s servers, making it anonymous. This prevents hackers, snoopers and even your ISP tracking your online habits and using it to their benefit.
This gives you peace of mind to go right ahead and use those convenient-but-unsecured public Wi-Fi hotspots, and browse openly at home, without worrying that third parties will get hold of your personal data.
To Protect Your Data When Using Public Wi
When youre safe in a tunnel, you can carry valuables in your car without the fear of getting robbed. Similarly, when youre online with VPN protection, you have zero worries about data breaches or identity theft. This is because a VPN protects you even if you’re on an insecure public Wi-Fi connection.
